What is a Dietitian?

A Dietitian is a University Qualified expert in Nutrition who has the skills to be able to translate nutritional science into practical every day advice. Accredited Practising Dietitians (APDs) are Dietitians who are qualified to work in the Private Practice setting (as well as the Hospital, Community Health, Health Promotion, and Food Service settings). APDs  are required to be accredited through the Dietitian’s Association of Australia and must complete a number of professional development hours per year to maintain their accreditation.
